After buying two rear-engine riding mowers to mow their personal residences and finding them cumbersome and slow, the Walkers went to work to design and build a lawn mower that was fast, easy to operate and would deliver a beautiful cut. The result was a compact tractor with a pre-manufactured deck and a 11HP engine, the first of three prototype designs.

 In 1980, the decision was made to build the first 25 machines that represent the product we know today. It was an arduous task, but weld fixtures and hand tooling were completed. These initial 25 machines led to bigger things and in 1982 orders for a 100 units facilitated full-time production and by 2008 the landmark 100,000^th Walker Mower was produced.

Now with a product line to suit all levels of the market and a range of accessories to complete a Walker season these fine machines maintain homes and estates throughout the world. We here at RT Machinery have contributed in our own small way and have an extended family of happy Walker owners right here in the UK.
