HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Managing Director and Owner, Richard Taylor, began his career at WJ Coopers, a Ford and Claas dealer, where his father Robin was General Manager. As an assistant in the parts department, he quickly progressed to Parts Manager, winning a prestigious Topper Club award from Ford as the top parts manager in the UK. And a trip to Athens.

From there Richard followed a passion and hobby of his and went into the Motorcycle industry for several years before returning to Grass care machinery at Risborough Turf. He went on to become After Sales Director of the business, over the years main dealers for Jacobsen, Hayter, Iseki, John Deere and the first dealer in the south of England for Etesia. In fact Risborough Turf was the Top Etesia UK dealer for a number of years.

When the owner of Risborough Turf decided to sell the business in 2001, Richard decided to continue in the industry and started RT Machinery Ltd, and with very humble beginnings: he worked from a summer house office at the bottom of his garden and a basic workshop headed up by Technical Director Stephen Palmer.

Starting with products such as Etesia, Danarm and other quality ranges, including good used equipment, Richard used his experience and knowledge of the industry to grow the new business. He was also delighted that his previous customer base was loyal, many following him into his new venture.

17 years have gone by very quickly and the business has progressed a vast amount in that time, now running a smart workshop, offices and parts department from a smart unit in a beautiful location with over 20 members of staff. RT Machinery Ltd also now has a partner company, RTM Landscapes.

2018 was a particularly exciting year, with the award of a Royal Warrant on 1st April. Our services to the Royal Household and Her Majesty The Queen began in 2001 when RT Machinery started trading and has always been considered a privilege and a pleasure.

2001

Our First Used Machinery Package Sold to Ken Pelton

Now replaced with a shiny bright Iseki TLE3400. Out with the Orange and in with the Blue.

2002

Our First Stand Located at I0G Saltex

This was our very first stand located at I0G Saltex. Working with product partners CMS Blotter and Tallwin Services Ltd.

2005 – 2014

We’ve proudly received so many awards over the years!

Between 2005 and 2014 we proudly picked up many awards for outstanding customer service including; ‘Etesia Outstanding Performance’ in 2005, ‘Dennis Dealer of the Year’ in 2008 and ‘Etesia and Pellenc Overall Partner of Excellence’ in 2014 to name just a few. Our First Iseki Sold

This was our very first Iseki tractor sold to Her Majesty’s Prison Service.

Continental Deliveries

It’s always a pleasure to deliver overseas. A tractor and mower package supplied and delivered into Limoges France.

2018

Royal Warrant

As a family business, we feel very privileged to have been awarded a Royal Warrant on April 1st 2018.

Our services to the Royal Household and Her Majesty The Queen began in 2001 when RT Machinery started trading, and has always been considered a privilege and a pleasure.

To have received this recognition really came as a surprise and it has certainly been a team effort: we have a fantastic range of products but these would be nothing without the expertise and commitment of our staff.

2019

Record Numbers at RTM Show

September’s RTM Show was the best yet with over 400 visitors, exhibitors and staff enjoying what has become the biggest “Live and Running” Ground Care and Turf Machinery show in the country!

2020

New and Improved Workstations!

Big changes made at the premises, with a new spacious workshop and yard, refurbished customer service area with new parts counter, new battery and Husqvarna Automower^® robotics workstations, service points and winter storage for Husqvarna Automower^® robots.

Celebrating 20 Years!

The batteries are as energised today as they were 20 years ago and with a shared vision and drive in the team, this is indeed a proud moment and we’re looking forward to the next twenty!

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

We were all deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty The Queen. We continue to express our deepest and heartfelt sympathy to The Royal Family and all The Royal Household.

Hottest Day for RTM Show

It was definitely the hottest-ever RTM Show Live at over 30 degrees! A huge thank you to all our Customers, Suppliers and Colleagues for their unwavering enthusiasm and good nature despite the uncompromising heat!
